Windows 8 or later, and administrator rights (Mufus asks for them when it starts, as Rufus does).
No installation: just run the executable.
Releases are not code signed, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time. Click More info then Run anyway. The SHA-256 of each file is in the release notes.
Writing to multiple drives
Plug in the drives you want to write to.
Click the multi-drive button (stacked drives icon) at the end of the Device row, tick up to 10 drives and click OK.
Select your image and options as usual, then press START. Every question is asked once, for all drives, followed by one confirmation listing every drive about to be erased.
The drives are written at the same time, with per-drive progress and a combined log.
When it's done you see which drives succeeded. A failed drive doesn't affect the others.
The drives share your USB controllers and hubs, so each one is slower than on its own, but the batch finishes far sooner than writing them one by one. A powered USB 3 hub helps.
Everything else is Rufus
Single drive mode is unchanged, and so is every Rufus feature: bootable drives from Windows and Linux ISOs, BIOS or UEFI, Windows 11 without TPM or Secure Boot, Windows To Go, persistent Linux partitions, bad block checks, image checksums, retail Windows ISO downloads, 38 languages and more. The Rufus FAQ applies to Mufus too.
Mufus and Rufus can't run at the same time, and Mufus keeps its settings separately (HKCU\Software\ExecSam\Mufus or a mufus.ini next to the executable). Mufus doesn't check for updates to itself, so check back here from time to time.
